Lol you don't need a math degree to do basic math. If they release their sales specifically from GW:EN then its as easy as dividing it by the price of the game. You won't be exact as not everyone has bought GW:EN but you'll get a rough minimum. And notice the words "at least" in that quote.
The game won't be dead until they shut down the servers. Look at D2 its still going and there are plenty of players. Granted there isn't a D3, at least not yet but even so.

GW is kinda dying, really. New players coming? So what? They'll get bored soon, there are better games out there. Quake Wars, Crysis, Unreal Tournament 3, Team Fortress 2, WoW (yeah, I know, flame me), The Witcher... Whatever whoever likes.
Unless someone is excited about GW's ,,balanced'' PvP (u r r6? no? cya) or ,,original'' PvE (team lf r6 ursanway! u rn't ursanway? cya), he will just stop playing.

I love AB i dont know whats wrong with having big battles(For GW anyhow) why is it bad ..
Maybe becouse you are PvP Elitist or just dont like big battles eh Its fun for some and not fun for others

The main concern (at least for me) is how misleading that number can be. If you take 3.5 million copies sold, then bear in mind how many copies are sold on one account, then add in how many of those accounts are bought by the same people (for more character slots), the Guild Wars playerbase starts to look fairly small. While I would like to know where 350k came from, I feel as though the game population could be much less lower than a million.

you're very smart sir. \o/
obviously the game is not literally dead, that would involve the closing down of the servers. not going to bother explaining this to you anymore.

I can't remember where the figures came from, but it has been said that GW sustains about 100,000 people at any one time and has about 1,000,000 active accounts playing. I wish I could remember where I read that, though.

GW isnt dying because too many people still come on guru and qq'ing the hell out of it. with that much zeal, these people jsut show that the game is alive, albeit with angry ppl.

Yeah that'd actually be some really cool info, I've always wondered what the active playerbase was - and what they consider an "active player."

Quite true.
I think Guild Wars is already on a falling curve.
Good players keep leaving.

Yeah...I smell a corpse
Everything said about GW being alive or dead has been argued since EotN came out. Can we at least merge these threads?

People actually had fun in HA (even spiritspam days were fun) and GvG was amazing. Now everyone rolls PvE with heroes and henches and grinds titles. Economy? I don't think I've played a game with a worse economy. Don't even start with PvP. HA is terrible, GvG is terrible. The guilds everyone loved watching and playing against have left, factions+nf have destroyed any chances, ironically when you think about it, of variety and the huge number of inactive/smurf guilds have screwed the ladder.
gw is not dying.. its dead ^^

true that. even if groups were retaarded, i still miss the grouping with other people. however, this porblem is easily solved if u have a close group of friends so you all do pve toggether,
